I drew the girl way back last year, but I didn't paint her surroundings for a long time. I was always intending to do some watercolor around her, but earlier this year I lost my entire artbox x___x Naturally, that included my watercolors.

Well, last week the wonderful directed me to this set: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001… which was (and currently still is!) on sale for a little under $21. It arrived a few days ago, and last night I finally got to finish this picture after a year and a half!

I must say I really recommend this set; the waterbrush requires some getting used to but it's really excellent, and it's just a really great portable set with a lot of good colors. Even though I prefer tube watercolors, I'm in love with this set. 

Anyway, back to the piece itself...naturally since I lost my artbox I haven't done any painting in a while, so it's not quite what I envisioned but I'm still pretty satisfied with it. Unfortunately I could not get the colors to come out right in Photoshop no matter what I tried. I wonder if it would have come out better if I'd scanned it.... (I used my Nikon D3200 to take a picture). Maybe if I can scan it and it comes out better, I'll replace this image.
